Welcome to the ECO Warrior section of our website. On here you will find information about our clubs and the activities we are doing.
At the moment we have 2 ECO warrior groups one for Year 3 and 4 and one for Year 5 and 6. The Year 3 and 4 children look after our onsite allotment which is outside the Year 4 classrooms. They are also responsible for planting the planters around school.
The Year 5 and 6 children are responsible for looking after our off site allotment. During the spring, summer and autumn terms they children go up to the allotment and grow various vegetables and fruits for example raspberries, potatoes, tomatoes. During the winter months we plant seeds in our greenhouse ready for planting out the following year.
On top of this we also have the Green Ambassadors. This is a group of children who are responsible for making decisions for ECO related projects around school. Currently they are planning a wildlife area which they will be constructing in the summer term.
We have lots exciting things happening over the coming terms watch this space for more news.
ECO Green Flag Award
On Wednesday 15th January we had an Eco Schools assessor in school. The assessor met with the Eco warriors, Bike it Crew and Green Ambassadors to see what work we have done over the past 2 years. I am pleased to say the assessor was very happy with the work the whole school has been carrying out with regards to Eco related issues. They have awarded us our Green flag again.
